Modification of horizontal sliding osteotomy for asymmetrical chin

Most osteotomies of the chin are designed to treat retrogenia,1–3 but lateral displacement of the excised segment in the coronal plane is not easy to achieve, particularly when the movement is large. We have modified the horizontal sliding technique to overcome this problem, and enable precise control of the vertical and lateral displacement.
