Abstract

With the continued success of adeno associated virus (AAV) vectors in the clinic for treating genetic and other diseases, much effort has been directed at developing improved vectors with enhanced transduction activity. Hundreds of isolates of AAV have been reported and many display distinct cell tropism, which is suggested to be the result of binding distinct cell surface receptors.
