Increased severity of sleep-disordered breathing is associated with insomnia and excessive somnolence in primary school children

• Difficulty with initiation or maintenance of sleep (DIMS), excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), and habitual snoring (HS) are frequent in the general pediatric population.• The prevalence of DIMS as well as EDS increased with higher frequency of snoring in children.• No correlation between both DIMS and EDS symptom severity and BMI was found.
