Too little is understood about head and neck cancer by those who make decisions about it

This issue of BJOMS carries two letters from the same group about the glacial progress being made in primary prevention of an increasingly prevalent, potentially lethal, disease. Oropharyngeal cancer caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) continues to claim lives and have a devastating impact on our patients' quality of life. Vaccination of all those at risk with any of the available vaccines would probably eradicate this disease.
