Post-thyroidectomy haemorrhage in a tertiary centre. Analysis of 1,280 operations and comparison to the BAETS audit 2012

Abstract

Haemorrhage following thyroid surgery is an uncommon but potentially lethal complication, occurring in approximately 1% of all procedures, according to data submitted to the most recent audit, performed in 2012, by the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons (BAETS).
