Zika virus: oral healthcare and oral disease

Abstract

Dear Editor, the recent publication on Zika virus infection and oral health very interesting (Leão et al., 2016). The first concern is on the risk of oral health care worker. Leão et al. (2016) noted that " Transmission in oral healthcare should be effectively prevented using standard infection control measures." It I no doubt that the Zika virus is a great risk for any health care worker. Focusing on transmission via saliva, it is still an unconfirmed risk but there should be special precaution (Wiwanitkit, 2016).
