Local control of 151 head and neck cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma after radiotherapy: a retrospective study on efficacy and prognostic factors

Abstract

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most common skin cancer in the Caucasian population and its incidence is increasing worldwide.1 Conventional surgical excision is recommended as the first choice of treatment for most head and neck cSCCs (HNcSCC). Radiotherapy (RT) is a widely used treatment alternative with curative intent.
